This is the most friendliest club - i love shooting with you guys!.......Hattie
Sunday evening, Oct. 5th. I have some comments. Today we had what could be the last shoot of this season. As always, it was a blast! (pun intended) As we did last year, at the end of the shoot we talked about possibly shooting again in November but that will be weather dependent, and as residents of central Pa. I think we all know what depending on the weather around here means. Anyway, to my comments: In my lifetime I have been associated with several different outdoor sports clubs, but never with one that was so friendly, helpful, caring, and just plain fun to be a part of as this one. From the first day we showed up, you took us in, accepted us, encouraged us, helped us, laughed with us, shared with us and made us feel comfortable and at home. I do have to say that there are some things that are missing in this club. The "I am better than you because (pick one or more)-my equipment is better, fancier, more expensive; I have been around longer; I shoot better, or faster; I have more money to throw at this; etc.-attitude is missing. The "I must win at all costs, rules and other people be damned" attitude is missing. This all may seem normal to you, but in my experience it is a rare thing to not find any of that stuff somewhere in any group. Near as I can tell, it is totally absent here. I took up this sport because from the first time I saw it, it was something I really wanted to do. There's a huge chunk of that kid with his twin Fanner 50's still alive and well in me. My first blessing was that my wife wanted to do it with me. My second blessing was you guys. Wordy as I am, I do not have the words to express the joy that brings into my life. I read in the magazines and "the Chronicle" about all the big, fancy shoots, with tons of people, elaborate props, world class shooters, etc., and some day, time, money and the good Lord willin', I'd like to go to some, but I already know that they won't be as much fun as shootin' with you guys on the first Sunday of the month. I have learned to appreciate, and not take for granted life’s little pleasures. In these times, it seems like they are fewer, and farther between. I have also learned that very few people are accurate mind readers, and if you don’t tell them how you feel, they might never know. And I have learned that there is no such thing as “Oh, there’ll be plenty of time for that…” So…this is how I feel. To all the great cowboys and cowgirls I have met through this club, thank you for being a wonderful part of my life. Hopefully I’ll see some of you again if we shoot in November, but if not, have a safe and warm winter, keep yer powder dry, shoot straight, and we’ll see you bright and early in the spring.
Happy trails,
Fred Dodge

Also Fred- You are just saying that cause you can hit the can in the air- and some of us can't-----LOLOLOL ........
El Marco
El Marco, you are right, of course! If we're ever attacked by
flying soda cans, I'm your man.
Fred
Well Fred I would have to echo your comments. Firewater
Filly and I really look forward to the monthly shoots and the family feeling.
It is comforting to know that the more experienced members of the the Chimney
Rock Regulators will take the time and interest in new wanna-be's like myself
and the Mrs. and help us to be better. I look forward to introducing our
youngsters to this sport( or way of life)and the fun that can be had with a
group of very talented and the most friendly bank robbers, cattle rustlers, and
renegades around. Can't wait til the next shoot, I better get some casings
filled up first!
